The Guidance Program
Guidance and counseling programs, activities, and services focus on helping children experience healthy growth for future success. As part of a balanced approach to school counseling, our program is aligned with the ASCA Model. Many services are available to reach all students.
· All students receive age appropriate instruction in the classroom related to the topics of academic, career, and social/emotional development.
· As needed, groups of children with similar needs are supported through specialized group counseling.
· The school counselor consults with parents, school staff, and students for individual student planning of interventions, problem assessments, referral to appropriate professionals, and special education planning.
How can I contact the school counselor?
Students – Tell a parent or teacher you would like to talk to the counselor, let me know during classroom guidance, or when you see me in the hallway.
Parents – Email, call, or send a note to school in an envelope marked with my name.
