“Kids Helping Kids” at Abingdon Elementary School

Three students display certificates

Abingdon Elementary School participated in the Ronald McDonald House Charities, “Hearts for the House.”   Students sold hearts for $1.00 each to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.  The “House” provides a place to stay, and support for sick children and their families while receiving treatment.   The students sold 2,212 hearts.  Ms. Campbell’s fifth grade class placed first, selling 343 hearts. Ms. Alexander’s kindergarten students came in second, selling 336 hearts and Ms. Blevins fourth graders placed third, with 335 hearts. Belle P. sold the most hearts, 300. Daniel F. and William F. tied in second place, each selling 275. Congratulations to AES students and teachers for helping such a wonderful cause; what a great example of “Kids Helping Kids!”
